How to protect your family - Wills and Powers of Attorney
Protect your family – and yourself.
          • Chosen who looks after your money and health – or let the Court decide? (At your expense). Not parents or spouse.
          • Picked guardians for your children – or leave it to Social Services?
          • Avoid disputes and legal problems as far as possible.
          • Reduce Inheritance Tax (IHT).
          • Ensure your money goes to the right people and is as protected as possible.
          • Unmarried couples and separated families have special issues.
          • Avoid buying an expensive Trust to protect your home from care fees – it often won’t work.

About me

I (Steve) have been writing Wills and Powers of Attorney for more than 25 years. I stepped back from running a larger business so I could focus on doing what I enjoy most: helping people to plan ahead and protect themselves and their loved ones.

Back in the 1800’s I would have been a “Man of Affairs”

                                                         – sounds a bit “dodgy” these days, but it meant someone you could trust with important matters!

Client feedback: “Felt like chatting with a chum. Relaxed and easy. Thanks Steve!”

STOP PRESS:

Important for Women

Ladies – did you know?

Women are 30% more likely than men to die with Alzheimer’s or dementia. That’s why it’s vital to put your own plans in place early.

Let’s make sure it’s your family, not the Court of Protection, who takes care of you.

Why Lasting Powers of Attorney Matter

If you lose the ability to make decisions (for a short time or permanently), no one — not even your spouse — can act for you unless you have LPAs in place.

Without them:

– Your family has to go through the Court of Protection

– It’s costly, slow, and stressful

– Even joint bank accounts can be frozen

Let’s set up your LPAs at a sensible price. It all starts with a free chat on 01323 766766 – or use the form).

Moving on

Review Your Plans Regularly

The law, tax rules and family situations change all the time.

You should review your Will and LPAs:

– At least every 3 years

– Sooner if your family changes or new laws come in

Even missing a simple change could cost your loved ones £140,000 or more. A quick review could avoid huge problems later.

A Little About Me

– I’ve worked in Wills and Estate Planning since 2001

– Former Chairman of the Society of Will Writers in Sussex (15 years)

– Recently awarded Companion (CmpnSWW) status — one of only 5 in the country

– Based in Polegate, covering Eastbourne, Hailsham, Seaford, and all of England & Wales via phone or video

Client Feedback

“Steve guided me through both types of LPA. He’s very professional, friendly and explained everything clearly. Highly recommended!” – Teresa Fowler

Why Do You Need Regular Reviews?

Because:

– Judges change how the law works every week.

– The Government keeps fiddling with the rules.

– The Taxman is always on the lookout for more tax.

– And your own life keeps changing.

Planning once isn’t enough. Let’s make sure your plans still do what you need them to.
